Tripura, not a preferred choice of IAS officers?

Tripura is one of the important states in Northeast but it seems that it is not a preferred destination for the IAS officers. More than a dozen newly recruited Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers have left the state cadre in recent years. Transfers have been mostly sought on the grounds of marriage or personal choice. This has sparked concern within the state administration, which is already grappling with a severe shortage of senior officers. Around 12 officers from batches between 2019 and 2023 have been transferred out of Tripura.
